ABOUT
Bel Kil is an Australian singer-songwriter, producer and engineer. Growing up on a farm in the Northern Grampians, surrounded by a family with a love of music and entertaining, Bel’s inquisitive mind led to a childhood spent constructing, creating and playing guitar. Music was always at the forefront but the confidence to pursue it as a career came later after a major bike accident. The experience of having to relearn how to sing helped convince her to pursue her own solo project – it made her “slow down and put things into perspective.”
Bel’s 4-track debut EP ‘My Year’ released in late 2022 combines catchy vocals with cinematic production. Her songs are incisive perceptions of life, love and dreams, laid bare on a backdrop of rousing, spirited beats and sweeping, anthemic choruses. My Year calls for weekend road trips and summer festivals, striking the balance between youthful nostalgia and hope for the future.
Bel's feature single ‘My Year’ is a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition judged by Cold Play’s Chris Martin, Mariah Carey, Linkin Park and Tom Waits. Her debut received Spotify editorial playlisting, as well as broader support from media and radio including Triple J unearthed, SYN, PBS, Fbi, 4ZZZ, Pile Rats, Ramona Mag, Music Feeds, Lost In The Nordics, Buzz Music and many more. She has held packed-out launches at The LeadBeater and Toff In Town, supported Aria award nominee Odette and is set to play at FRL (Folk, Rhythm and Life festival).
